STAFF

Doug Passmore came to First Baptist East in August 1979. He was raised in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He graduated from Anadarko High School in 1967. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1971. He returned to his hometown of Anadarko to teach and coach for two years. He received a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, TX., in 1976.

Doug was called to First Baptist Church, Lawton, as Family Life Minister in 1976 and then to First Baptist East as senior pastor.

Doug met Beverly Justice at the Baptist Student Union and they were married in 1970. They have three children, Matt and his wife, Lisa; daughter Tally; and Bradley and his wife Allee. Doug and Beverly also have six grandchildren. Doug’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, sports and his family. Doug has a real heart for preaching expository sermons that make the Bible fresh and applicable to every day life.

Trey Smart has served First Baptist East since 1982 when he was called to be our Minister of Youth and Education. Since 1995, he has served as Minister of Education and Outreach. Trey is a native of Ryan, Oklahoma and graduated from Ryan High School in 1975. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 1980. Before coming to First Baptist East, Trey served as Minister of Youth and Education at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
 Trey married Becky Brown in 1990 and they have two grown children – Hannah (husband, Ryan) and Justin (wife, Sara).
Trey’s hobbies include collecting sports memorabilia and following OSU sports as well as researching high school sports history. He has a great love for Sunday School and how it can make a difference in the lives of people.

Harry Ross came to First Baptist East in 1984. He was raised in the Lawton area and graduated from Lawton High School in 1975. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cameron University in 1980. Before coming to First Baptist East, Harry served as Minister of Music at Calvary Baptist Church, Lawton; Tyler Road Baptist Church, Wichita, Kansas; and, First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City, Kansas.
 
Harry married Gay Sare in 1978. They have three grown daughters: Christa Grice, Jessica Johnson (husband, Aundre), Emily Ross, and four grandchildren: Gavin, Gabby, Kaniya, and Titus. Harry’s hobbies include bike riding, fishing and hiking. He has a great love for music and a passion for worship.

Justin Smart joined the staff of First Baptist East in August of 2023. Justin serves as Minister of Youth and Recreation and is responsible for all ministry to middle school and high school students and oversees church recreation programs. Justin is a native of Lawton, Oklahoma and a 2015 graduate of Lawton MacArthur High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Math from Cameron University in 2019. Justin was a teacher and coach at Edmond North High School in Edmond, Oklahoma for four years prior to joining the staff of First Baptist East. Justin is married to Sara and they have a dog, Benji.
Justin’s hobbies include photography and producing graphics and he enjoys following high school sports – particularly basketball that he coached for several years. Justin loves students and has a desire to help them know Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.

Libbey Crowder joined the staff of First Baptist East in August of 2023. Libbey is our Children’s Director and oversees all ministry related to children in Grades 1-5. Libbey is a native of Lawton, Oklahoma and graduated from Lawton Christian School in 2020. She attended Cameron University where she is received a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Libbey is married to Corbin Crowder and they have been married since May of 2024.
Libbey’s hobbies including hanging out with family and she also enjoys playing pickleball.
Libbey has a great love for kids and for how Christ can make a difference in their lives.

Linda joined our staff in April 2010 as our part time Preschool Director. Linda has always had a love for children. Before joining our staff, Linda served as a Preschool Director at Elgin First Baptist for three years. She then worked for Elgin Public Schools in the Special Education Department for ten years. Linda has a strong desire to see that a loving relationship with Christ is started at an early age. She believes there is nothing  greater than having a child come to know Christ.

Linda has been married to David since April of 1983. They have three children Lindsey (husband Ty), LeAnn (husband Justin), Derek (wife Morgan). They have been blessed with five grandkids. Mason, Jack, Blakley, Paxton and Nash. Linda’s hobbies are walking, reading, playing with her grandkids, spending time with family and friends.
